Wild Indigo Nature Explorations
About the Organization
A regional office of the National Audubon Society, Audubon Great Lakes manages conservation work throughout the region to protect and improve habitat critical for birds during their migration and nesting cycles, and we build networks of volunteers and advocates for the natural environment. Within the National Audubon Society’s network, Audubon Great Lakes is viewed as a leader in building networks of community scientists and conservationists who take the lead in advocating for and managing the ecosystems that birds need to thrive.
About the Youth Program
The Wild Indigo Explorers Milwaukee is a nature-based youth leadership program that provides healing experiences in nature for youth and adults. Wild Indigo Explorers engage in exploring several of Milwaukee's natural areas. The program's goal is to teach them ‘the coordinator's work and allow them to engage with nature in ways they have not. The Explorers will then take what they have learned and continue to engage with local natural areas and their surrounding communities.
