What is the Environmental Youth Collaborative?
We are thirteen summer environmental youth-serving organizations that collectively employ over 160 youth each summer at an estimated 22,700 hours of youth employment. Our programming spans Southeastern Wisconsin and throughout the City of Milwaukee. Each organization’s mission is unique and when brought together, represents a strong diversity of programming in arts, engineering, stewardship, community development, education, social equity, and more
13 local organizations proving that we can make a bigger impact for and with Milwaukee’s youth by working together.
We work to share resources, efficiencies, and lessons learned that will directly improve the opportunities for our youth, our environment, our communities, and our organizations.

Fidel Verdin - True Skool
“It’s bigger than any of our organizations. The collective impact is why we are all here. This is a statement beyond our summer growing season in Milwaukee. This has an opportunity to have a ripple effect on new funding models. - Together, we’re a network of support that represents the future. That’s what we have to think about. Who cares? The people we serve are the ones who care. Not just the youth — their families.”
Wilniesha Smith - Reflo
“I commend all of us for coming together to continue to give children that sense of imagination and exploration with these internships — and just the opportunity to get outside and break the rigor of what they’re normally used to. It’s really important — especially with our Black and Brown children — that we understand that there are Black and Brown people in these spaces.”
